Meagan Tudge
Meagan is the the founder of ethically me ltd.
When we met six months ago, we felt that current market offerings
of ethical clothing provided unappealing and often 'hippyish'
options for women. We wanted to make clothes that were fun
to wear but produced in an ethical manner.
Primary roles:
Meagan Tudge
Marketing, PR, Brand Development and Ethical Policy
Meagan is responsible for the marketing strategy of ethically
me. She is in charge of the direct marketing activities required
for mail order / Internet sales. This includes brand development
for the company and all PR / advertising activity both online
and in publications with a focus on customer relationship
management. She is also in charge of monitoring and developing
the ethical policy.
Our Team:
David Jones
Fashion Consultant
David has worked in the clothing and fashion industry for
over forty years. He is currently President of London Fashion
Forum. Past positions held include a senior management role
at Aquascutum and Group Manufacturing Director of the Wallis
Fashion Group. He is Vice President and a Fellow of the Clothing
and Footwear Institute and a Fellow of Clothing, Designers
and Executives Association and British Institute of Management.
He is also a Technical and Management Advisor to several British
universities including London College of Fashion. He has received
the coveted Holden Medal by the Clothing and Footwear Institute
in recognition of his exceptional services within the Fashion
Industry.
For the past fifteen years, David has managed his own business
consultancy. Since commencing his consultancy, he has assisted
many small companies to become established, survive and grow
into significant businesses. He is a registered consultant
with the Department of Trade and Industry Enterprise Initiative
in both Business Planning and Marketing and an accredited
consultant with Chartered Institute of Marketing Managed Business
Consultancy Services. He is also involved with several Business
Growth Development Programmes for small and medium sized businesses
in and around London.
Elizabeth Edwards
Designer
Freelance designer Elizabeth Edwards, a graduate of London's
prestigious St. Martin's School of Art, served her apprenticeship
under the watchful eye of the late Jean Muir. She then moved
on to work with some of the country's most established names
- Betty Jackson, Catherine Walker and Lindka Cierach. She
has also created ranges for high street names such as Frank
Usher, BhS, Etam and Mulberry, and has worked in Italy, France,
Hong Kong and India.
Sarmilla Roy
Production Manager
Sarmilla Roy has a B.A. from Central St. Martins in Fashion
and a Masters degree from the Royal College of Art in Menswear
Fashion. She has freelanced extensively for top brands such
as Paul Smith and French Connection. Most recently she has
worked in production and manufacturing. She gained valuable
expertise as a full-time sample room coordinator at Jayroma
for the past three years. Her responsibilities included creating
production dockets, overlooking sealed samples and working
closely with designers, pattern cutters, machinists and quality
controllers for technical specifications.
Aisha Aswani
Ethical Advisor
Aisha Aswani has successfully completed the SA8000 Lead Auditor
training course, and has a degree in Business Studies and
a Masters in the International Political Economy.
Aisha is currently a freelance consultant who has worked
with a number of leading organisations in the ethical trade/corporate
social responsibility field over the past four years. These
include the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders
Forum, the Centre for Social Markets, the ethical sourcing
departments of two Ethical Trade Initiative corporate members,
and an Indian based organisation called International Resource
for Fairer Trade.
She has an in depth knowledge of the practical challenges
of implementing codes of conduct within the supply chain,
especially in the garment and brassware industry in India.
